Burn Our Bridges Down
“Burn Our Bridges Down is about anger, resentment, darkness, and rage. It tells the story of extreme anger after a particularly bad breakup.”

"Burn Our Bridges Down" is a raw, emotional track that connects my “Winter” EP, to my new album, Hymns For The Bitter. It’s fueled by the anger and bitterness from a really bad breakup, where I just had the urge to burn down everything from the past. The song references how my ex hated the Winter EP, which was about him, reigniting the rage that later inspired the album. It's all about letting go of old pain to step into a darker, more unapologetic future.
About the song
Lyrics
I was told you heard Winter and you didn’t like it
I know I’ll never get to ask you why
I sit here and I wonder, I’m just speculating
If you guessed it was about you, you decide
The timeline fits and so do you
Do you feel some way hearing the truth
How you gave up out of the blue
How you never did live up to what I thought of you
It’s time, let’s burn our bridges down
You’ll need the heat, it’s winter now
It’s my turn to freeze you out
You can’t have me halfway
If I give what you gave, you’d
Burn, burn, burn our bridges down
Burn, burn, burn our bridges down
I was told you heard Devil, didn’t like that either
But that one I can kind of understand
What I don’t is how you left and made it look so easy
But every second week you’re coming back
The timeline fits and so do you
Do you feel some way hearing the truth
How you gave up out of the blue
How you never did live up to what I thought of you
It’s time, let’s burn our bridges down
You’ll need the heat, it’s winter now
It’s my turn to freeze you out
You can’t have me halfway
If I give what you gave, you’d
Burn, burn, burn our bridges down
Burn, burn, burn our bridges down
You thought I would go easy
Thought I’d go down without a fight
But if I’m going to the pyre
Your secrets are my gasoline and I’m holding the light
It’s time, let’s burn our bridges down
You’ll need the heat it’s winter now
It’s my turn to freeze you out
You can’t have me halfway
If I give what you gave, you’d
Burn, burn, burn our bridges down
Burn, burn, burn our bridges down
