2am
“I wrote this song on 4 different planes, and wrote the chorus 3 years after the verses were done.”

About the song
During a trip with an ex, I discovered his infidelity, and we broke up while we were still stuck in a foreign country. On the plane back home, I began writing "2am", to process my heartbreak. As I then traveled to Egypt and Sudan, I poured my emotions through a series of writing sessions, creating "2am." The song tells the five stages of the breakup: betrayal, anger, pain, loathing, and acceptance.
Lyrics
We’re lying on the floor it’s 2am
Got your name on my lips, your mouth on my skin
I know it’s the last time we’ll be like this
I know I can’t stay
Now your phones lighting up, it’s a quarter to 3
Do you tell her you miss her like you say to me
I have no idea what I should believe
But I know I can’t stay
Now it’s you or me, it’s me or you
Could stay on fire to keep you warm
Won’t feed the flame, won’t let me cool
Control the burn, I have to lose you
Lose you
Now it’s you or me, it’s me or you
It’s 2 am, I’m choosing lose you
We’re wide awake and it’s 4 am
Throwing words like knives, screaming in the kitchen
Went from bad to worse and then back again
And I don’t wanna stay
Now the sun’s comin' up, know it’s time to leave
You say I’ll find bigger and better things
But we both know that’s what you could have been
If you chose to stay
Now it’s you or me, it’s me or you
Could stay on fire to keep you warm
Won’t feed the flame, won’t let me cool
Control the burn, I have to lose you
Lose you
Now it’s you or me, it’s me or you
It’s 2 am, I’m choosing to lose you
You
Lose You
You
Now it’s you or me, it’s me or you
It’s 2 am, I’m choosing lose you
