Villain

Villain is about anger, revenge, and standing up for yourself no matter what it takes to do so.
— RIELL

I wrote this song over five years ago, during early morning lifeguard shifts, without an instrument. “Villain” is about taking control and refusing to be disrespected, inspired by frustrating experiences with people who took advantage of me early in my career. This song marks a turning point for me, expressing anger with a purpose—standing up for myself and embracing my power. It’s the perfect intro to the Future EP, embodying the theme of demanding what’s mine and never settling for less.

About the song

Lyrics

You stole my words
You used my name
You took more than I freely gave

Twisted my mind
Tasted my skin
Gone when I had nothing left to give

I played it nice
To my demise
Silver lining, guess that nice me died

So you can call me a villain
And I will bring your nightmares to life
I’d rather be a villain than die as your victim tonight

Your knife in my back
Bang Bang I’m a killer
I’ll shoot you where you stand
I, I love the thrill of being a villain
I’m being what you said, aren’t i?

Trying to control me
Acting like you own me
I am not the old me

You said bitch, I became it
Poking provoked don’t tame it
Pound of flesh won’t satiate it

So you, so you want to talk about power
Hear me, fear me my silence is over
You might hit low but now I hit lower
You made me a cage so I made a monster

So you can call me a villain
And I will bring your nightmares to life
I’d rather be a villain than die as your victim tonight

Your knife in my back
Bang Bang I’m a killer
I’ll shoot you where you stand
I, I love the thrill of being a villain
Don’t be mad the blood on your hands isn’t mine

I am not the old me
Came for what you owe me
